Samsung Adds a Stone DAP to Its List

  creative isn’t the only one trying to influence DAP users through geology with products like the Zen Stone, Samsung has also designed and launched a similar line of DAPs and are calling them YEP-S2 where the ‘S’ reportedly stands for Stone. These DAPS come preloaded with Samsung’s DNSe (Digital Natural Sound engine) .


The player is designed to look like a smooth round pebble with an LED that provides subtle lighting effects with the control keys located underneath. From what the reports, the LEDs change color according to various modes selected from the player. The player also comes with  style earphones so it can be easily carried around or used as a fashion accessory.


The YP-S2 DAP is available in 5 colors and in 1 GB and 2 GB capacities priced at Rs. 2,290 ($54) and Rs. 2,753 ($65) respectively. Of course these may not make it to our shores, but we can hope can't we.

HTC Launches Touch Pro with QWERTY keypad

HTC has unveiled its advanced next generation business phone, the HTC Touch Pro. The HTC Touch Pro utilizes similar styling and functionality of the Touch Diamond and introduces a variety of business-focused enhancements as well.


The Touch Pro also uses HTC’s new TouchFLO 3D interface for accessing various applications and features in the handset. For internet purposes the Pro utilizes broadband-like speeds with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and wireless connectivity with a customized mobile Web browser that enables easy viewing and navigation of Websites in the way they are designed to be viewed on a PC. Users can zoom and pan Websites with one-hand and automatically view optimized content that has been specially created to fit the display. The Pro runs on a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS with a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor.

It also incorporates an auto Screen rotation feature that automatically switches the screen to landscape mode when turned. In addition to Web browsing, the Touch Pro includes an HTC-developed, YouTube application for watching a variety of user generated video content as well as including Google Maps for mobile for mapping and traffic data.


HTC has also introduced a new five-row, slide out, QWERTY keyboard layout for the Touch Pro. Other features include a built-in TV-out functionality, a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen display, a 3.3MP auto-focus camera, advanced and auto sensor screen pivoting, microSD card memory expansion, Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR, GPS/a-GPS and of course USB connectivity. The HTC Touch Pro also comes with Wi-FI capabilities.
 
The HTC Touch Pro will be available to customers across all major European, Asian and the Middle East markets in late summer. The North American and Latin American versions of Touch Pro will be available later in 2008. There’s no official pricing out yet, so stay tuned.

From fashion houses to cartoon companies to watchmakers and now automobile manufacturers, getting into the mobile world is fast becoming a hot trend. Apart from extending the brand value of high-status automobiles, it also offers fashion-conscious users a way to flaunt their style. Let's take a look at some cars that got 'mobilized'.

Asus Lamborghini ZX1

The Asus Lamborghini ZX1 is truly a work of art. It has a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display and the Windows Mobile interface is designed to look and feel like a race car. The handset itself is made of a strong carbon fiber that makes it sturdy. The 3MP camera has a stainless steel case to protect the lens. The handset is well-equipped with bluetooth v.2.0+EDR, 3.5G with HSDPA, and integrated GPS. Its 9-way navigation key makes surfing through menus easy. external memry is supported via microSD cards.

Porsche 9’521

The Porsche 9’521 is manufactured by French company Sagem and is built out of a single block of aluminum. It has an external display made of strong mineral glass that’s scratch-resistant. Its internal main display is 2.2 inches with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution. The display portion of the handset swivels to activate the 3.2MP camera (with 2 LED flashes) and an Accelerometer allows the orientation to change according to how it’s held (works best with videos). It supports Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP. A biometric sensor for fingerprint scanning protect ur data. External memory is handled by means of a 2GB microSD card.

Motorola V9 Ferrari

Motorola’s RAZR V9 is reportedly going to be released as a limited edition Ferrari handset. Like the normal V9, the Ferrari edition also has a 2 megapixel camera. The 2-inch external display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution comes with three touch-sensitive keys for the music player. These provide Haptic feedback. The internal display is a bit larger at 2.2 inches but has the same resolution. External memory is supported via a microSD card. The V9 is 3G-enabled with HSDPA speeds, and supports EDGE/GPRS and Bluetooth with an A2DP profile. A special accessory for the handset is a lambskin pouch bearing the famous prancing horse logo.
